The Anti-Heroine (Heritage Edition, 2020)

First introduced in 2020, The Anti-Heroine stands as the original mascot and a visual anchor of the Cherish By Her platform. She embodies the platform's early spirit, quietly defiant, intellectually elegant, and unafraid to speak truth to power.

She serves the local arts scene through non-fiction storytelling, offering observations that are honest, reflective, and unpolished by commercial expectation. She is authentic in presence and conviction, resistant to capitalist excess, and drawn instead to ideas of integrity, craft, and cultural memory.

Stylistically influenced by steampunk aesthetics, she balances edge with refinement, mechanical imagination softened by grace. Her composed posture and measured gaze reflect the origins of the platform: thoughtful, principled, and rooted in care for creative labour.

This character made her print debut in Volume One of the Cherish By Her zine, which was distributed by Geelong Zines, marking an early milestone in the platform’s publishing history.

Designed by Singaporean artist Vanessa Faith Wong, this artwork is part of the Heritage Collection, a preservation of the visual language, values, and founding narratives that shaped Cherish By Her in its formative years.
